Andrius Stelmokas (born March 3, 1974 in Vilnius , Soviet Union ) is a Lithuanian handball player .

Stelmokas, who plays for the German third division club TSV Hannover-Burgdorf 2 and used to play for the Lithuanian national team, is mostly used as a circular runner.

Career

Andrius Stelmokas made his debut for Granitas Kaunas in the first Lithuanian league. His team has won the championship every year since the establishment of a separate Lithuanian league. In 1999 he moved to KA Akureyri in Iceland. He stayed there for seven years. In 2004 he was signed by the German first division club Frisch Auf Göppingen . With the Swabians he moved into the final of the EHF Cup in 2006 , but lost to the TBV Lemgo there . Stelmokas then went to the ambitious second division club Füchse Berlin , with whom he was promoted to the first first handball league in 2007 . In 2008 Stelmokas moved to the second division TSV Hannover-Burgdorf, with whom he also rose to the Bundesliga in 2009. At the beginning of the 2010/11 season he moved to the Spanish club Lábaro Toledo. In February 2011 he returned to Germany and played for third division team TG Münden. Since the 2011/12 season he played for third division club TS Großburgwedel; After four years in Großburgwedel, in which he scored 438 goals in 116 competitive games, he ended his career as a player and has been active as a handball coach ever since.

Andrius Stelmokas has played 124 international matches for the Lithuanian national team. For his country he took part in the men's handball world championship in 1997 and the European handball championship in 1998.
