Andrzej Abramowicz
Andrzej Abramowicz (* around 1700 - † November 1763 near Pobikry ) was a castellan from Brest , who was one of the leaders of the party of the Radziwiłł family in Poland-Lithuania .
In the Pamiętniki of Marcin Matuszewicz he plays a major role. His brothers were Antoni Abramowicz and Jerzy Abramowicz .
Life
Andrzej Abramowicz was born around 1700. Like his brother Jerzy, he was an ensign of the Petyhorcy around 1736 and has been associated with the grand hetman and voivod Michał Kazimierz Radziwiłł since his youth , as he leased his property Żuprany and Nowe Miasto near Vilnius.
Around 1742 he became truchsess of Vilnius , in 1747 local clerk there and 1748 deputy for the Lithuanian tribunal.
For twenty years, together with his brother Jerzy and Ignacy Bohusz , he controlled the Sejmik of Vilnius and the Sejmiki of Smolensk and Starodub , held in exile near Vilnius , by pushing through the candidates for the Radziwiłł family and against the Czartoryski family .
In 1754 he received the mandate for the Sejm .
Under Karol Stanisław Radziwiłł , Andrzej Abramowicz and his brothers dominated the tribunal in Vilnius to such an extent that even the latter accused them of “dictatorship”. Andrzej and Ignacy Bohusz were finally removed from their offices under his successor Georg Detlev von Flemming . However, they found a protector in Jerzy August Mniszech , so a compromise with the supporters of the Czartoryski was forced and both were rehabilitated. In 1757 Andrzej Abramowicz was even castellan of Brest. However, he remained in Vilnius without visiting Brest. Nevertheless, in 1761 he received the Order of the White Eagle .
After the death of his protector Michał Kazimierz Radziwiłł, he went to Warsaw to recommend Karol Stanisław Radziwiłł as voivod of Vilnius with other delegates of his party. He died on the way to Warsaw near Pobikry.
