Michał Kazimierz Radziwiłł Rybeńko

Life

He was the son of Karol Stanisław Radziwiłł and the mother Anna Katarzyna Sanguszko. He himself married the playwright Urszula Franciszka Wiśniowiecka in 1725. In his second marriage he married Anna Luiza Mycielska. Among his sons were Karol Stanisław Radziwiłł and Hieronim Wincenty Radziwiłł .

He was the owner of Birże , Dubinki , Słuck and Kopyła . From 1728 he was court stable master of Lithuania and court marshal from 1734. In 1737 he became field hetman of Lithuania and castellan of Troki . From 1742 he was also castellan of Vilna. Two years later he became Voivode of Vilnius and Grand Hetman of Lithuania. In addition, he was the star of various cities. These included Przemyśl , Bracław , Kamieniec Podolski , Człuchów , Ostra , Krzyczew , Owrucz , Nowy Targ , Parczew , Osiek and Kaunas . He was awarded the Order of the White Eagle in 1727.

He was considered to be of average intelligence and was self-centered. He was militarily untalented. But he was also honest and not corrupt, like most of his contemporaries. Radziwiłł was one of the main supporters of the Saxon party and opponent of Stanislaus I. Leszczyński in Poland-Lithuania . For this, August III. awarded important goods. When the Russians invaded the country in 1757, he went over to their side.

In Nieswiez he had a burial place built for the Radziwiłł family.
