Michael Kasimir Radziwiłł
Michael Kazimir Radziwill (lit. Mykolas Kazimieras Radvila , pol. Michał Kazimierz Radziwiłł * 26. October 1635 in Nesvizh , then Grand Duchy of Lithuania ; † 14. November 1680 in Bologna , then Papal States ) was a Lithuanian nobleman , magnate , statesman , military leader and Imperial Prince in the Holy Roman Empire from the Radziwiłł noble family .
He held various offices in the Lithuanian part of the Kingdom of Poland-Lithuania , from 1652 he was a grand clerk of Lithuania, from 1656 grand cupbearer of Lithuania, from 1658 field hetman of Lithuania, from 1661 castellan of Vilnius , from 1667 voivode of Vilnius (Vilnius Voivodeship), from 1668 Vice Chancellor of Lithuania, as well as Starost von Upytė , Przemyśl , Człuchów , Kamieniec Podolski , Chojnice , Lida , Telšiai , Rabsztyn , Choteń , Homel , Ostra , Gulbin and many other cities.
He had been married to Katharina Sobieska (Katarzyna Sobieska, 1634–1694) since June 16, 1658 , making him brother-in-law of King Jan III. Sobieski made, at whose side he took part in the Ottoman-Polish War 1672–1676 against the Ottomans and, in contrast to his cousins Janusz Radziwiłł and Bogusław Radziwiłł , distinguished himself in the war against the Swedes by patriotism . One of his sons was Karol Stanisław Radziwiłł , who also became Grand Chancellor of Lithuania.
