The Evangelical Church is a listed building in Büttelborn , a municipality in the Groß-Gerau district , Hesse .

History and architecture

From the late Gothic predecessor church from the end of the 15th century, the choir with five-eighth closing and tracery windows , as well as the sacristy have been preserved. The nave was built from 1728 to 1729 under the direction of Friedrich Sonnemann. There is a canopy rider on the roof . The pillars of the three-sided gallery are carried up to the ceiling, they support the wooden hollow vault . The pulpit and organ and a wooden crucifix from around 1800 belong to the early classicist furnishings .

The organ created by Johann Wilhelm Schöler (≈1723–1793) was rebuilt in 1899 by Heinrich Bechstein .
