Andy Fusco
Andy Fusco is an American jazz saxophonist .
Fusco grew up in New Jersey. He came to music through his mother, who worked as a pianist, and played the saxophone from an early age. After graduating from Syracuse University , he played on a semi-professional football team for some time.
From 1978 to 1983 he was a member of the Buddy Rich Big Band and toured with Gerry Mulligan and Mel Lewis . His first album as band leader Big Man's Blue was released in 1996, followed three years later by Out of the Dark . As a sideman he took u. a. with Buddy Rich , Danny D'Imperio , John Pizzarelli and Steve Smith .
Since 1988 he has been a professor at the Music Faculty at Kean University in New Jersey .
