Andrew "Andy" Patrick Rose (born February 13, 1990 in Melbourne ) is an Australian football player who is under contract with the Vancouver Whitecaps in Major League Soccer .

Career

Andy Rose was born in 1990 to English parents in Melbourne , Australia . He came back to England as a child and started his football career with Bristol City . For the club he played in the Youth Academy up to the U18 . In 2008 he began studying in the USA at the University of California in Los Angeles . There he played college soccer on the soccer team known as the UCLA Bruins . In 2012 Rose was in the Entry Draft by Real Salt Lake drafted, however, was against Leone Cruz from Seattle Sounders replaced. In March 2012, Rose signed his first professional contract in Seattle . He made his professional debut two months later against the Philadelphia Union in Major League Soccer . With the Sounders, he won in 2014 the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup and the Western Conference in the regular season. He stayed in Seattle until December 2015. During his time with the club, he reached the play-offs every year. In January 2016 he moved to the English third division club Coventry City . With the club he won the Football League Trophy against Oxford United in 2017 . In the same year he rose with his team as penultimate in the 4th league. He then moved to the Scottish first division club Motherwell FC . With Motherwell he reached the final of the Scottish League Cup in his first year, which was lost to Celtic Glasgow . In January 2019 he moved to the Vancouver Whitecaps .
