Andytown
Andytown ( Florida ) was a town in Broward County in the United States at the intersection of US Highway 27 with Florida State Road 84. In 1979 , the town was eliminated to expand Interstate 75 into Alligator Alley . The town could still be found on maps until the 1980s. The ghost location is also still listed on some online services .
The village itself was founded by Andy Poulus in 1947. 1963 Andytown received the status of a town.
Remnants of Andytown can be found east of Highway 27 on Griffin Road. There is still a transformer station next to the cemetery, which is labeled Andytown. In the nearby town of Davie, there's a bar called Andy's Lounge and Package , which has an old place name sign above the front door. The former truck stop called Jo-Mo City on US Highway 27 was near Andytown .
