Ane Hansen (* 1961 in Akunnaaq ) is a Greenlandic politician ( Inuit Ataqatigiit ).

Life

Ane Hansen graduated from school in 1981. From 1981 to 1987 she worked as an office assistant in the hospital of Aasiaat . From 1987 to 1988 she worked as a teacher at the Ado Lyngep Atuarfia in Aasiaat. She then worked at the Qajaraq Crisis Center until 1997 . In addition to her main political offices, she is active in a large number of committees and foundations. She is married to Ole Olsen and has two sons.

She first became politically active when, at the age of 23, she was the second representative of Jens Geisler for the 1984 Inatsisartut election. In the 1987 election she ran independently, but could not win a seat in parliament, as she received only the fifth most votes of the seven candidates in her party in her constituency. In the local elections in 1989 she was first elected to the council of the municipality of Aasiaat . In 1993 she was re-elected and was given the post of Vice Mayor behind Knud Sørensen . In the 1995 parliamentary elections, she received the third highest number of votes of the eight candidates in her constituency and thus again missed the Inatsisartut. She was re-elected in the 1997 local elections and was mayor of her community until 2001. In 1999 she was elected to the first self-government commission as a member of the party main administration.

In 2002 she was first successfully elected to parliament. After two re-elections in 2005 and 2009, she held the post of Minister for Fisheries, Hunting and Agriculture in Naalakkersuisut until 2013 . In 2013 and 2014 she was still elected to parliament. In 2009 the municipalities were merged into municipalities. She became a local council member of the new Qaasuitsup Kommunia , but continued to stay on the district council of Aasiaat. In 2013 she was appointed the municipality's second vice mayor. In autumn 2017, she left parliament, as she has been mayor of the newly founded municipality of Qeqertalik since 2018 .

On July 28, 2013 she was awarded the Nersornaat in silver.
