The airfield Seitenstetten ( ICAO code : LOLT ) is the airport of the community Seitenstetten in Lower Austria .
geography
The airfield is located one kilometer north of the center of Seitenstetten in the Url valley at an altitude of 320 m above sea level. A. In terms of nature, it is located in the Mostviertel .
history
The airfield was built on the initiative of Herbert Stelzer in 1976/77, the property was made available by the Seitenstetten Abbey .
Airfield and equipment
The airfield is approved as a special landing site for aircraft of all types up to 2000 kg MTOW . Landing is only possible after prior registration ( PPR ). The tower (frequency 123.605 MHz) is usually manned from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. There is a petrol station and an oil service is available for stopovers.
Incidents
- On December 30, 2013, a gyroplane had an accident after taking off in Seitenstetten near Tragwein. The two inmates were injured to varying degrees.
- On July 3, 2015, a Pilatus PC-11 -B4 glider crashed into a grain field during an aerobatic exercise in preparation for the major air show in Seitenstetten. The pilot was trapped and seriously injured.
- On August 18, 2016, a gyrocopter crashed from the Innkreis near Seitenstetten on the roof of a house. The pilot was injured and the aircraft destroyed.
traffic
A municipal road connects the airfield to the B 122 , which runs one kilometer to the south . The public transport does not serve the airport directly. The nearest train station is St. Peter-Seitenstetten on the Westbahn .
