The Angas River is a river in the Australian state of South Australia .

It rises near Macclesfield on the eastern slopes of the Mount Lofty Ranges . From there it flows south through Strathalbyn and flows into Lake Alexandrina at Milang and thus into the Murray River .

history

The river was discovered and named on December 31, 1837 by an expedition of Robert Cock , William Finlayson , A. Wyatt, and G. Barton from Adelaide to Lake Alexandrina. It was named after the chairman of the South Australian Company , who had done a lot to research the new colony.
