Angélica María (* 27 September 1944 in New Orleans , Louisiana as Angélica María Hartman Ortiz ) is a Mexican singer and actress .

The daughter of the musician Arnold Frederic Hartman made her debut in 1950 in the film Pecado by producer Gregorio Walerstein . After a number of other films, she made her theater debut in 1955 in the play La Mala Semilla . In 1960 she played in the play El Canto De La Cigarra on the side of Manolo Fábregas . In the same year she worked on one of the first telenovelas , Cartas De Amor , and had her first vocal role in the film Las Hijas Del Amapolo .

The first LPs Angélica Marías appeared in 1961, and she also played in other films. In 1965 she shot the film Fray Torero with Paco Camino in Spain . By 1970 she had acted in 70 films, made a dozen records and won fifty awards in the United States and South America. In 1973, the single Tu Sigues Siendo El Mismo sold a million times in the United States. In 1975 she married the musician Raúl Vale .

In addition to her work on other recordings and participation in films and telenovelas, she appeared in the 1977 theatrical comedy Papacito Piernas Largas , which was performed more than a thousand times in three years. In 1980 she appeared on the show La Historia Del Cine as a singer, dancer and impersonator. With the show La Magia De Angélica Maria she performed from 1983 to 1985 all over America from Chile to New York.

In 1987 she appeared together with her mother Angélica Ortiz in the musical comedy Una Estrella , another joint appearance followed in 1990 in the play Mama Ama El Rock . In 1993 Angélica María made her debut as an operetta singer in La Viuda Alegre . The following year she played in the six hundred-part telenovela Agujetas De Color De Rosa . In 1995 she first appeared in a play for children, La Isla De Los Niños . In 1998 she founded the Producciones Angélica Ortiz with her daughter Angélica Vale and made her debut with the production of the musical comedy La Cenicienta .

In 2001, Angélica María first worked on a radio play, La extraña señorita Felton . The following year she started a talk show with women with climacteric or menopausal problems. In 2003 she played alongside Sônia Braga in José Bojórquez 'film Sea of dreams .
