Angelika Hauff

Angelika Hauff (also Angelica Hauff ; born December 15, 1922 in Vienna ; † December 3, 1983 in Vienna; born Alice Paula Marie Suchanek ) was an Austrian actress .

From the age of five she appeared as a ballet dancer at the Vienna State Opera . She attended the Max Reinhardt Seminar and in 1942 received an engagement at the Salzburg State Theater .

In the same year she made her first film appearance and received a leading role on her second appearance in the artist film Circus Renz . In the years that followed she took part in numerous German and Austrian productions. Three times, namely in the opera film adaptation of Figaro's Wedding , in the doctor's biography Dr. Semmelweis - savior of the mothers and in the GDR / Swedish literature adaptation The Miss von Scuderi worked for DEFA . She was in front of the camera in Brazil for some films.

Over the years, her movie roles became more and more insignificant. Instead, their stage work became more important. After numerous guest appearances, she was a member of the Vienna Burgtheater from 1955 until her death . A few weeks before her death, she was awarded the professional title of chamber actress for her work there .
