Reviews

  • Loosely strung together stations from the life of the Austrian artist, who died in 1918, who conjured up scandals with his work and way of life that had remained unrecognized. One learns next to nothing about the art-historical references and the importance of Schiele. For this, the film focuses on the bodies of the models. - Lexicon of International Films
  • The loose scenes and rows never do justice to Schiele's work. The boredom is bigger than Carrieres good game. - gong
