TV Digital (the publisher's spelling is " TV DIGITAL ") is a program magazine that is published every fortnight .

According to the "information community for determining the distribution of advertising media" ( IVW 2/2020), 1,159,452 copies are sold, and according to the media analysis in 2010, the range was 3.4 million readers. Measured in terms of sales, TV Digital is the second most popular German program guide after TV14 .

The first edition appeared on March 26, 2004. The journal was published by Axel Springer AG for the first ten years ; She sold this to the Funke media group on January 1, 2014 .

prehistory

In 2003, the then Premiere Germany boss Georg Kofler had the idea of launching a joint program guide for pay TV and free TV in order to replace the expensive Premiere magazine and thus to reduce costs. After the name "TV Complete" was banned by the court while the first issue was being delivered, the magazine was temporarily called "TV Kofler".

Due to the later focus on digital TV in the general sense, the magazine was sold to Axel Springer Verlag.

concept

The specialty of the magazine is that it appears in seven issues, which are tailored to different program offerings: Sky, Sky Satellite, Entertain, Vodafone / Kabel Deutschland, unitymedia and Austria; there is also an XXL edition that includes several providers. All editions contain the programs of the most important free TV channels.

The program part has the following scheme: The feature film highlights as well as the highlights from the areas of sport, series, show, documentary & info and children are presented on a double page. This is followed by the free-to-air channels on two double pages and the pay TV channels on three double pages . A film planner AZ on four double pages at the end of the listing provides information about the broadcast dates of all feature films in the program period.

The focus of TV Digital is on the presentation of blockbuster films and films with a high audience response for all channels (print and online). Information about other films, series and channels is shortened or not at all.
