Angelika Oehms

Angelika Oehms (* 1949 in Speyer ; † 1986 in Leer ) was a German artist .

Life

From 1971 to 1977 Oehms studied at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts . 1977/78 followed a stay in Tokyo, Japan. She was the temporary partner of the musician and poet Norbert Hinterberger and the "total artist" Natias Neutert , had a brief affair with the poet Christoph Derschau in 1979 and was lifelong friendly with Dieter Roth .

Whether photos, slide shows, drawings or acrylic paintings, Oehm's picture themes are, as the art historian Sigrun Paas writes, "dedicated to the relationship between women and men or reflect the problems of female self-determination and independence."
