Angelika Renate Storz-Chakarji

Angelika Renate Storz-Chakarji (born November 4, 1953 in Tuttlingen ) is a German diplomat who was the German ambassador to Qatar from 2012 to 2015 . From 2009 to August 2012 she was the German ambassador to Oman .

Life

After graduating from high school , Angelika Renate Storz-Chakarji began studying law at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg and the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen in 1972 and passed the first state examination in 1976 . She then continued her studies between 1977 and 1979 at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University in Bologna , where she obtained a Master of Arts degree (MA in International Affairs (SAIS)).

In 1979 she joined the Foreign Service and, after completing her attaché training, found employment in the legal department of the Foreign Office in 1981 , before she worked at the embassy in Japan from 1983 to 1986 . After a subsequent assignment at the Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York City , she worked from 1989 to 1998 in the Foreign Office in the Political Department and in the Central Department.

Between 1998 and 2000 she was an exchange officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France and then an employee at the embassy in France. After her return, she was head of division in the European Department of the Foreign Office between 2004 and 2008 and then took part in a one-year language training course.

Angelika Renate Storz-Chakarji was Ambassador to Oman from 2009 to August 2012 . From September 2012 to summer 2015, she was the German ambassador to Qatar .
