Angelika Strotmann

Angelika Strotmann (born May 24, 1956 in Osnabrück ) is a Catholic exegete and professor of Catholic theology at the University of Paderborn .

Life

Angelika Strotmann studied philosophy , Catholic theology and sociology at the Philosophical-Theological University of Sankt Georgen and at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . In 1990 she received her doctorate in theology and subsequently worked at various universities as a lecturer in Old Testament and New Testament exegesis . From 2002 to 2008 she held a professorship for Biblical Theology and Religious Education at the Heidelberg University of Education . Since 2008 she has been Professor of New Testament at the Institute for Catholic Theology at the University of Paderborn. Her main research interests include a. the fatherhood of God in early Jewish writings and in the New Testament, wisdom christology in the New Testament, first testament wisdom writings, especially Jesus Sirach , images of women and women in early Jewish and biblical writings. She was involved in translating the Bible into righteous language . In 2011 Strotmann signed the memorandum Church 2011: A necessary departure .
