Angelika Wetterer

Angelika Wetterer (born February 26, 1949 in Hamburg ) is a German sociologist. Her main research interests include a. the topic of division of labor and gender construction, feminist scientific and social theory as well as women's and gender equality policy from a practical and theoretical perspective.

Life

In 1969, Wetterer began studying German and sports, and in 1971 switched to sociology. She finished her studies at the Universities of Hamburg and Freiburg in 1975. In 1979 she completed her doctorate at the University of Freiburg, which she graduated with summa cum laude. In the following years she worked as a research assistant, lecturer and lecturer at various universities until the 2000s. During this time she was also involved in several research projects.

In 2002 she completed her habilitation at the University of Kassel , where she worked as a private lecturer until 2005. This was followed by visiting professorships at the University of Graz (summer semester 2004) and the University of Vienna (winter semester 2004/2005). In 2005 she was appointed to the University of Graz. She has been retired since October 2014.
