Angeline Bauer

Angeline Bauer (born March 10, 1952 in Kelheim , Lower Bavaria) is a German non-fiction and novelist. Her historical novel Hahnemanns Frau achieved particular fame . She also uses the pseudonym Friederike Costa .

life and work

Until 1982 Angeline Bauer was a full-time ballet dancer at German theaters and director of her own ballet school. She has been a freelance and full-time writer since 1982. She lived and wrote in Amsterdam for five years on a houseboat , and that is where her pseudonym Friederike Costa came about. In 1987 she returned to Germany and, in addition to her work as an author, ran a practice for psychological counseling until 1999.

Angeline Bauer was Heyne regular author until 2003 , during which time she wrote two books for young people and eighteen cheerful novels under the pseudonym Friederike Costa. In addition, she published non-fiction books on medicinal herbs and cooking under her own name . Books on psychological interpretations of fairy tales were written for the Südwest Verlag and the Gütersloher publishing house. The fairy tale guide, healing fairy tales for parents and children , published in 2002 became a bestseller.

In 2004 a guide to writing romance novels was published by the authors' house publishing house , in 2005 the first of four historical novels by the Aufbau Verlag . Hahnemann's wife was nominated for Die Delia and the Sir Walter Scott Prize in 2006. The King's Fool was nominated for The Delia in 2008 and The Never Bride in 2013 . Angeline Bauer's oeuvre comprises a good fifty novels and non-fiction books, almost a thousand short stories, crime novels and episode novels, which have been published under the pseudonym Friederike Costa and other pseudonyms in German magazines and anthologies since 1982. In 2015 she founded the publishing house 'by arp'. Angeline Bauer is married and has one son.
