Karl Eymann

Karl Eymann (born February 29, 1888 in Langmeil / Pfalz , † October 22, 1962 in Kirchheimbolanden ) was a German engineer .

Life

Eymann was born in Langmeil / Kaiserslautern district during the three-year-olds and attended secondary school in Kaiserslautern and then secondary school, which he left in 1907 with the Abitur. In the winter semester of 1907/08 he began to study mechanical engineering at the University of Munich, at the same time he joined the Corps Germania , of which he remained a member throughout his life.

After passing the diploma examination with distinction, Eymann was an assistant at the newly founded TH Breslau in 1910 .

In 1913 he received his doctorate with distinction as Dr.-Ing. and joined the Badische Anilin- & Sodafabrik in Ludwigshafen as a mechanical engineer in October 1913 . In 1923 he became chief engineer and authorized signatory, in 1931 head of the technical department of what was then IG Farbenindustrie AG and in 1937 director of this company. On January 1, 1952, Eymann left the management team at BASF and retired.

Since Eymann belonged to the Mennonite religious community , he did not do any military service in World War I.

Honors

Eymann was one of the first to be awarded the DECHEMA medal in 1953 .
