Angelite ( The Bulgarian Voices Angelite ) is a Bulgarian women's choir that was founded as a private choir in Sofia in 1992 by Tanja Andreeva, the former director of the Bulgarian TV Choir (and has been operating under the name Angelite since 1995). The choir's repertoire ranges from archaic Bulgarian folk songs to author's compositions that are based on traditional music, but use contemporary means of expression.

The special sound of the choir is created by microtonal vibrations and the bell-bright, yet throaty voices of the women. The choir is also known for cross-over projects: in 1995 Sergey Starostin recorded the album Fly Fly My Sadness under the direction of Michail Alperin with the South Siberian ensemble Huun Hur-Tu and the Bulgarian women's choir Angelite . 1999 at the Edinburgh Arts Festival with Angelite in the Gray Friars Kirk the live album Sergey Starostin's Vocal Family - Journey was created . The choir also worked on other projects with Enrique Morente , António Zambujo and the Romanian Fanfare Ciocărlia . Phil Collins wrote Transformation for this choir , which is part of the soundtrack for the Disney film Bear Brothers .

Concert tours have taken the choir to the USA, Mexico, Japan, India and almost all European countries; In 1996 he appeared together with Jan Garbarek at the celebration of the Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony . Angelite's predecessor was the women's choir of the Bulgarian radio and television (dissolved in the old form since 1992), which became internationally known through Marcel Cellier as the Mystère des Voix Bulgares . In the meantime, those recordings by the previous choir that were released by Jaro have also been re-released under the name Angelite.
