Angelo Jacobini
Angelo Maria Jacobini (born April 25, 1825 in Genzano di Roma , Italy , † March 3, 1886 in Rome ) was Curia Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church .

Angelo Jacobini was a cousin of the Cardinal Secretary of State Lodovico Jacobini . His niece Eugenia married Giovanni Antonio della Chiesa , the brother of the later Pope Benedict XV.
Life
Jacobini studied in Rome and became a doctor of theology in 1846. Then he was ordained a priest . He was under Pope Pius IX. Member of the preparatory commission for the Syllabus errorum . Jacobini then became an auditor of the Council Congregation .
From 1867 he was consultor of the preparatory commission for ecclesiastical discipline and in this way prepared the First Vatican Council , in which he participated from 1869 to 1870 as assistant to the council undersecretary. In 1875 Jacobini became secretary of the Congregation for Extra-Church Affairs. During the Kulturkampf he took part in negotiations with the German Reich .
Pope Leo XIII. took him on March 27, 1882 as Cardinal Deacon of Sant'Eustachio in the College of Cardinals . Cardinal Jacobini died four years later and was buried in the Campo Verano Roman cemetery .
