Angelo Trevisani

Angelo Trevisani (* 1669 in Venice , † after 1752 ) was an Italian painter and engraver of the Baroque.

Trevisani is said to have practiced dance in his youth. As a painter, he was a student of Andrea Celesti (1637–1712) and Antonio Balestra in Venice.

Trevisani is best known for his portraits. He also painted historical and religious paintings in the province of Rovigo (Santuario della Madonna di Piastrello in Lendinara ), Brescia (Dream of Saint Theresa, in San Pietro in Oliveto) and Venice (Martyrdom of Saint Thomas in San Stae , as well as in San Zaccaria and San Cosmo e Damiano (expulsion of the money changers from the temple)). A self-portrait hangs in the Uffizi . In the Palazzo Labia in Venice he painted the ceiling painting Entry of the Labia family in the Golden Book of the Venetian nobility in the Zodiak Hall.

Bartolomeo Nazari is one of his students .

He is also known as Angelo Trevisan, Angelo Trevisano, Angelo Barbieri.

His brother Francesco Trevisani was a well-known painter in Rome.
