Anita Smell

Anita Rieche (* 1950) is a German classical archaeologist .

Anita smell studied classical archeology, art history and prehistory and was in 1975 at the University of Bochum with a dissertation on the Roman copies of the statue of Leda of Timotheus doctorate . She then worked for the Rome Department of the German Archaeological Institute and the Theodor Wiegand Society until 1979 , dealing with the history of the German Archaeological Institute. She then worked at the Regional Museum / Archaeological Park Xanten in museum education, public relations and publications until 2000 . From 2000 until her retirement in 2007, she headed the publications department at the Rheinisches Landesmuseum Bonn .

Her scientific research areas include the afterlife of antiquity and the history and practice of archaeological reconstructions.
