Anita Sergeevna Zoi
Anita "Anna" Sergejewna Zoi b. Kim ( Russian Анита Сергеевна Цой , English transcription : Anita Tsoy ; born February 7, 1971 in Moscow ) is a Russian singer.
Life
Anita Zoi was born in Moscow in 1971. Both parents are members of the Korean minority in Russia . Her mother supported her musically at a young age. After finishing school, she began studying law at Moscow's Lomonosov University . It was there that she met her future husband, Sergei Zoi, who, like herself, is of Korean descent. After graduating, however, she did not work as a lawyer, but tried to start a career as a singer. In 1997 their first album, Poljot , was finally released. Stylistically, it is most likely to be assigned to the genre of rock music and was heavily influenced by the music of the Russian band Kino .
Encouraged by the success of their first album, a second album, Tschornyj Lebed , was released in 1998 . This was stylistically classified as pop rock . After numerous concert tours in Russia and other Russian-speaking countries, Anita Zoi traveled to the USA in 2000, where she finally recorded her first and so far only English-language album, I'll remember you . In 2003 another Russian-language album followed with 1,000,000 minutes , the style of which was to be assigned to dance music. Dance should remain her preferred style of music in the future. 1000000 minut was another great success, there were a total of four singles ( Million Minut , Odnomu tebe , Eto li ljubow? And Nowogodnije igruschki ).
In 2004 she was appointed ambassador of Korean culture to Russia by the South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun during his state visit.
After a long hiatus, their fourth album, Na Wostok , was released in 2007 . In 2009 Anita Zoi went on a concert tour through Russia, the proceeds of which went to socially disadvantaged families who had lost relatives to Chechen terrorists . She toured Grozny , Beslan and Budjonnowsk , among others .
In 2011 their sixth album, Twoja A , was finally released .
