Annika Firley

Annika Firley (born June 11, 1986 in Marl , North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany ) is a German musical actress .

Life

After graduating from high school in 2005, Firley studied musicals from April 2006 to February 2010 at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen . She previously received singing lessons from Valerie Bruhn and during her studies from Noelle Turner .

Before studying musicals, she took part in competitions and in 2005 was a prize-winner of the national singing competition in Berlin in the musical category .

Firley has been engaged as a musical performer at Theater Hagen since 2007 . She played there u. a. Mrs. Cohen in Rent (2008), Velma in West Side Story (2008-2010) and Cinderella in Into the Woods (2009/2010 season). In the 2010/2011 season she appeared at the Hagen Theater in November 2010 in the Christmas fairy tale Snow White , a production of the Hagen Music Theater with musical actors. Firley received good reviews for her portrayal of the title role; she played with a “girlish timbre and light-footed charm.” From November 27, 2011 to December 22, 2011, she played the leading role of Sophie (Little Red Riding Hood) at the Hagen Theater in an adaptation of Grimm's fairy tale Little Red Riding Hood. In November / December 2013 she played the role of Princess Elisa in the Christmas fairy tale The Frog King at the Hagen Theater ; she was the "clever and headstrong king's daughter." In the 2016/17 season she was the owl who later becomes Princess Lusa again in the fairy tale play Kalif Storch .

Firley has also appeared at a few musical galas; there she sang u. a. next to Patrick Stanke , Sabrina Weckerlin , Ethan Freeman and Lothair Eaton . In autumn 2013 she was a guest soloist in the solo program Dir Belongs to My Heart by Alexander Klaws .

Firley also works as a singing teacher for pop , jazz , musical and classical music at a private music school in Duisburg .
