Anja & Anton was a German children's and youth series that was produced from 1998 to 2007 by Studio-TV-Film GmbH in Berlin on behalf of ZDF . In the first two seasons, the series was still entitled "Anja, Anton and ...". The first broadcast of the first episode took place on December 24, 1998 on the children's channel .
The directors of the 55 episodes were Karl-Heinz Käfer (27 episodes, 1998-2003), Marc-Andreas Bochert (16 episodes, 2004-2008), Arend Agthe (8 episodes, 2004-2006) and Hans-Henning Borgelt (4 episodes , 2002). Käfer was also the scriptwriter of the series and was involved in the ZDF children's series Löwenzahn , Siebenstein and mittendrin , among others . The shooting took place in Berlin-Köpenick and the surrounding area.

The focus of the plot is the weird Dr. Anton Müggelheim, the engineer in a disused and listed waterworks near the Müggelsee near Berlin-Köpenick , and his young, animal-loving subtenant Anja Teigler. At the 11th Children's Film & TV Festival “ Goldener Spatz ” in 1999, Anja, Anton and… the chicken won the jury's prize for the best pre-school program.
