Anjum ( West Frisian Eanjum ) is a village in the northeast of the municipality of Noardeast-Fryslân in the Dutch province of Friesland . It has 1,055 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).
history
Anjum was probably around the year 1000 by a man named Ane on a mound set up. 530 Anjum residents died in the All Saints Flood in 1570 . In the Christmas flood of 1717 , 53 Anjum residents lost their lives.
From 1913 to 1935 Anjum was the terminus of the Dokkumer Lokaaltje, a North Frisian railway line. The train stop is still standing today.
In Anjum there is the Michaëlkerk, a tuff church built around 1100 .
