Anke Weiler

Anke Weiler (born August 30, 1972 ) is a former German rower who was second in the 1995 world championship in the foursome without a helmsman .

Career

Anke Weiler won the bronze medal at the Junior World Championships in 1990 with the four-man without a helmsman in the GDR . In 1993, starting for the reunified Germany, she finished sixth in a two-man team without a helmsman at the Nations Cup, a forerunner to the U23 World Championships .

In 1995 she won her first German championship title with eighth . At the 1995 World Championships in Tampere, the German four-man with Gerte John , Doreen Martin , Dana Pyritz and Anke Weiler won the silver medal, one and a half seconds behind the boat from the United States.

It wasn't until 1998 that the hamlet rowing for RV Saarbrücken was back at the world championships and finished sixth in the four. In 1999 and 2000, Weiler won two more championship titles with eighth place. At the 1999 World Championships she reached sixth place with eighth, but thus missed the qualification for the 2000 Olympic Games. 2001 she took part in the World Championships for the last time and finished eighth in the four.
