Elin Ann-Sofi Pettersson-Colling , later Ann-Sofi Saltin , (born January 1, 1932 in Stockholm ) is a former Swedish gymnast.

In 1950, gymnastics world championships were held for the first time after the Second World War . At the competitions in Basel , Helena Rakoczy from Poland won the all-around individual competition ahead of Ann-Sofi Pettersson and the Austrian Gertrude Kolar . Kolar and Pettersson won with the same number of points on the uneven bars. The team competition was won by the Swedish team with Evy Berggren , Vanja Blomberg , Karin Lindberg , Gunnel Ljungström , Hjördis Nordin , Ann-Sofi Pettersson, Göta Pettersson and Ingrid Sandahl .

At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952, in addition to the team competition, six other competitions for gymnasts were offered: individual all-around, four individual devices and group gymnastics. The Swedish team finished fourth in the team all-around competition behind the Soviet Union, Hungary and Czechoslovakia. In the individual all-around competition, Pettersson-Colling took 44th place, on the equipment the 14th place in the jump and 17th place on the ground were her best results. In the final group gymnastics with hand-held devices, the Swedish team won ahead of the Soviet Union and Hungary. The Swedish team won with Evy Berggren, Vanja Blomberg, Karin Lindberg, Hjördis Nordin, Ann-Sofi Pettersson-Colling, Göta Pettersson, Gun Röring and Ingrid Sandahl.

Pettersson-Colling also won a gold medal at the 1954 World Championships in Rome. In the horse jump she achieved the same number of points as the Soviet gymnast Tamara Manina , just behind Evy Berggren received bronze.

At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 , the Swedish team finished eighth in the team competition, in the all-around individual competition Pettersson-Colling reached 31st place. In the horse jump she won the bronze medal with the Hungarian Olga Tass, behind the Soviet gymnasts Larissa Latynina and Tamara Manina. The last time the group gymnastics competition was held at the Olympic Games, the Hungarians won ahead of the Swedish team.
