World Gymnastics Championships 1950

The 12th World Gymnastics Championships took place from 14.-16. July 1950 in Basel . After a 12-year break, it was the first world championships after the Second World War .

In the men's all-around competition, the Swiss Walter Lehmann won ahead of his compatriot Marcel Adatte and the Finn Olavi Rove . Switzerland also emerged as the most successful team.

In the women’s category, Helena Rakoczy from Poland won the world title, the best team was Sweden .
