The 48th World Gymnastics Championships in artistic gymnastics will take place from October 25 to November 3, 2018 in the Qatari capital Doha instead. The title fights were given to the emirate for the first time . The venue will be the 15,500-seat Aspire Dome . On May 10, 2014, Qatar was awarded the world title competition in gymnastics by the FIG .

Video evidence is to be used for the first time at the World Cup . This was announced by Morinari Watanabe, President of the world association FIG, in October 2017.
