Ri Se-gwang (born January 21, 1985 in Hamgyŏng-namdo Province ) is a North Korean gymnast . His greatest successes so far are winning the gold medal in jumping at the 2014 World Gymnastics Championships in Nanning and the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . This makes him the first North Korean world champion in apparatus gymnastics after 18 years and only the second after Pae Gil-su to ever succeed. He was able to defend his title at the 2015 World Gymnastics Championships in Glasgow .
