Paavo Aaltonen
Paavo Johannes Aaltonen (born December 12, 1919 in Kemi , † September 9, 1962 in Sipoo ) was a Finnish gymnast . In his career he was both Olympic and world champion.
At the 1948 Summer Olympics in London , he won gold in the horse jump and the pommel horse . He shared the gold medal on the pommel horse with his compatriots Veikko Huhtanen and Heikki Savolainen with the same points . He received another gold medal in the all-around team competition. In the individual all-around competition he was third.
In 1950 he became world champion on the horizontal bar at the World Gymnastics Championships .
The in Helsinki held 1952 Summer Olympics , he won in the team competition bronze.
