Josef Wilhelm (* 1892 ; † 1956 ) was a Swiss gymnast and Olympic champion .
At the 1924 Summer Olympics in Paris he took part in all nine gymnastics competitions. He won the individual competition on the pommel horse in front of the two Swiss teammates Jean Gutweninger and Antoine Rebetez . In the team all-around competition, Wilhelm and the Swiss team took third place behind the gymnasts from Italy and France. He also achieved fourth place on bars, where August Güttinger won the gold medal .
Wilhelm came from Chur . There he ran the traditional local restaurant Planaterra with his wife Martha Wilhelm-Appenzeller . The family of the Olympic champion also produced several greats in Swiss wrestling . His brother Anton Wilhelm was one of them.
