In August of the same year he took part in the Russian Cup in Yekaterinburg , where he won gold in the team competition and took 4th place in the all- around competition behind Nikita Ignatyev . In the individual finals, he won the gold medal on vault and two silver medals on bars and on the ground.
In 2018, Dalaloyan became the first Russian all- around world champion since 1999. With a total of 87,598 he achieved exactly the same number of points as the Chinese Xiao Ruoteng and only thanks to the tie-break rule did he win the gold medal due to the better execution of his exercises. He was also successful in the individual competitions and became world champion on the ground, winning silver on vaults and bronze on bars. He was also awarded the Longines Prize for Elegance.
