Anna Baar

Anna Baar (* 1973 in Zagreb , Yugoslavia ) is an Austrian writer .

Life

The daughter of an Austrian father and a Croatian mother from Dalmatia grew up bilingually in Vienna, Klagenfurt and in summer with her grandmother on the Dalmatian island of Brač . After graduating from the music branch of the Stiftsgymnasium Viktring , she studied journalism , Slavic studies , theater studies and public relations at the universities of Vienna and Klagenfurt. In 2008 she was at the University of Klagenfurt for Dr. phil. PhD. During her studies she wrote for the press and radio as well as clients from business, science and the arts.

Anna Baar writes poetry, prose and essays. Her texts have been translated into several languages ​​and published in numerous German and international literary magazines and anthologies.

Baar lives in Vienna and Klagenfurt .

At the invitation of the literary critic Stefan Gmünder , Baar took part in the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize 2015 .
