Anna Bocson

Anna Bocson , maiden name Wojtaszek, divorced Pazera (born November 25, 1936 in Kranowitz , Province of Upper Silesia ) is a former Polish - Australian javelin thrower .

Life and Achievements

Anna Wojtaszek started with the Budowlani sports club from Opole and was second in the Polish Championships in 1955 in Łódź with 49.36 m. In 1956 in Zabrze she became Polish champion with 49.63 m. In 1956 she started for Poland at the Olympic Games in Melbourne , finished ninth and stayed in Melbourne. After the marriage, Anna Pazera took Australian citizenship and won the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff in 1958 with a personal best of 57.41 m.

In 1960 she finished sixth at the Olympic Games in Rome , and in 1962 she won bronze at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Perth . At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, she was eliminated from qualification.

After her remarriage, Anna Bocson won silver with 47.81 m at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Kingston in 1966 . Her daughter Belinda Bocson is an Australian swimmer.
