Anne-Marie Johnson (born July 18, 1960 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actress .

Life

Anne-Marie Johnson studied at the University of California, Los Angeles . She got her first major role in 1984 in the comedy series Double Trouble . Johnson became best known for the role as Althea Tibbs, which she played in the first six seasons of the television series In The Heat Of The Night from 1988 to 1993 . Between 1997 and 2002 she had a recurring role as Bobbi Latham in the series JAG - On behalf of the honor

Anne-Marie Johnson has been married to actor Martin Gray since 1996 . From 2005 to 2010 she was Vice President of the Screen Actors Guild .
