Annegret Thöle

Annegret Thöle , later Hollendiek (born December 28, 1935 ) is a German table tennis player . She was one of the best players in Germany in the mid-1950s.

youth

Even in her youth, Thöle achieved several successes. In 1952 she won the German youth championship. A year later she finished second in singles and doubles with Marlis Skindoris. At the international French championships in Paris in 1953 she reached the final, which she lost to Ann Haydon .

Adults

Thöle was ranked second in the 1955 DTTB rankings for women . In 1955 she finished third at the national German championships . In doubles with Ulla Paulsen , she achieved several successes. So they were runner-up at the German championships in 1954, in 1955 and 1956 they came third. In 1955 they won the International German Championships in Kiel.

On March 27, 1954, Thöle lost both singles and doubles in Koblenz in the international match against France. In 1954 she joined the club TTC Rot-Weiß Hamburg , with which she was German team champion in 1953/54 and 1954/55 and in 1955/56 reached third place. In December 1954, she played in international matches against England, Wales and Ireland. In 1955 and 1957 she was nominated for the individual competitions of the table tennis world championship.

For family reasons she paused from 1958 to 1962 and after an interlude in the league then until 1978. Around 1966 she joined the club SV Kirchweyhe. Since then she has played successfully in senior tournaments.

Private

Annegret Thöle married Günther Hollendiek († 2007) in 1958, with whom she has four sons.
