Annemarie Reinhard

Annemarie Reinhard (born Petzoldt ; born November 29, 1921 in Dresden ; † November 10, 1976 there ) was a German writer .

Life

Annemarie Reinhard worked as a dressmaker after attending high school . In 1948 she joined the SED . She became friends with the Danish author Martin Andersen Nexø . In 1949 she began to publish her own literary work. She lived in Dresden with her husband, the writer Götz Gode .

In her writing development she was strongly influenced by the encounter with Auguste Wieghardt-Lazar . Annemarie Reinhard wrote novels and short stories for adults and young people. Her novel Treibgut deals with the fate of two refugee orphans after the Second World War . She was the first GDR writer to take up the issue of displacement . Day in the Fog is the story of an escape from the French Foreign Legion , and Escape from Hohenwaldau deals with the state-organized euthanasia murders in the Third Reich . Her works quickly reached very high editions, so Tag im Nebel was sold in over 100,000 copies.

Annemarie Reinhard was a member of the GDR Writers' Association ; from 1956 she acted as chairwoman of the Dresden district association. In 1960 she was awarded the Heinrich Mann Prize and in 1964 the Martin Andersen Nexö Art Prize of the City of Dresden .
