Götz Gode

Götz Gode (official name Georg Reinhard-Fleischhauer ) (born January 6, 1905 in Wienskowitz , district of Rosenberg OS ; † January 15, 1969 in Dresden ) was a German writer .

Life

Götz Gode came from a Catholic family of civil servants. He grew up in the Rhineland . After the study of philosophy , art and music history and the doctorate phil. he carried out various activities, including a. he was a piano teacher. He took as a soldier of the Wehrmacht at the World War II in part and fell into French captivity . Under the influence of the works of Romain Rolland he turned into a socialist and went to the GDR . From 1949 to 1953 he was a lecturer , then chief editor at Sachsenverlag in Dresden . He was married to the writer Annemarie Reinhard .

Götz Gode was also active as a writer since the mid-1950s; he wrote stories, poems and essays. His first works are thematically set in his home in the Rhineland . Was particularly successful with its historic Gode youth book - trilogy around the hero Nik.
