Geographical location

Moor meadows on the Trebel near Annenhof

Annenhof is twelve kilometers northwest of the city of Demmin . It borders on a moorland and renaturation area to the north and west. South of the village is the Trebel river , which forms the border between Annenhof in Western Pomerania in the north and Brudersdorf in Mecklenburg in the south. Six kilometers northwest along the Trebel are the places Rodde-Camper and Nehringen . The path to these places through the Trebeltal renaturation area has been flooded for several years and is therefore no longer passable. Only a small path just above the water that leads to Rodde is still accessible on foot. The only fixed road connection leads to the neighboring Volksdorf . In the east the old and new moat lead to Medrow .

history

Annenhof is mentioned for the first time in the “History of the City of Demmin” from 1772. In it, Wilhelm Carl Stolle reports on a small Wendland, which was described as "Strich Acker behind Volksdorf an der Trebel". At that time it measured 336 acres and belonged to the St. Bartholomew Church . Before that, Annenhof was a Vorwerk of the Volksdorf estate.

In 1933 the village was officially founded, the name of which should be based on two stories. The first reports that the residents of Volksdorf referred to a house in what was then Vorwerk as a different court , from which the name Annenhof was derived. Another story, which is described in the history of the city of Demmin by Karl Goetze, says that it was named after the former landlady Anna-Dorothea von Thun. Just two years after it was founded, the 24 houses in Annenhof were fully settled in 1935. Settlers from the area, Mecklenburg, Rhinelander, Bremen, East Prussia and Hesse were the first residents.
