Annexus Quam (Latin for connection like ) was a German music group from Kamp-Lintfort near Düsseldorf .

The group is assigned to Krautrock , but numerous influences from jazz and psychedelic rock have also flowed into the very idiosyncratic style of the band.

Band history

The band was founded in September 1967 under the name "Ambition of Music", renamed itself to "Annexus Quam" in 1970 and released two albums on the Ohr label . The band played at Expo 70 in Osaka in 1970 and then gave a few more concerts in Japan. Since then, they have been considered the first German rock band to perform in Japan.

The first release was the track "Kollodium", which appeared on the "Ohrenschmaus" sampler of the Ohr label and was created during the recording of the first album. The rather cosmic echoes of the first album then developed strongly in the direction of free jazz until the second album . The group was also mostly seen live at jazz festivals.
