Annika Schlegel (born April 22, 1994 in Neunkirchen (Saar) ) is a German summer biathlete and handball player . She has been running as a biathlete for the Biathlon Team Saarland since 2009 and has played in the women's team of SV 64 Zweibrücken since the 2013/14 season .

life and career

Annika Schlegel was born in Neunkirchen (Saar) in 1994 . Today she lives in Ottweiler , where she graduated from high school in 2013. She has been studying mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern since 2013 .

Annika started playing handball in her home club TV Ottweiler at the age of five . Until 2013 she played at HV Saar . After graduating from high school, she moved from her home club to SV 64 Zweibrücken , where she just missed the championship title in her first season with the team. Since 2009 she has also been active in biathlon, where she has competed in numerous competitions so far. She is the German junior sprint champion and has won numerous medals.

In July 2015 Annika was nominated as the first Saarland biathlete for the World Championships of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) in summer roller-skis. These will take place this year from August 26th to 31st in Cheile Grădiştei in Romania. On her World Cup debut, Annika is 32nd in the sprint category and achieved a very good 28th place in the pursuit that followed. With the women's relay, she took 9th place.
