Anselm Prester

Anselm Prester (artist name Anselm ; born July 17, 1943 in Tegernsee ) is a German painter and former pub owner on the East Frisian island of Langeoog .

Life

In 1950 Anselm Prester took drawing lessons in his father's studio of the same name. When his father died in 1959, Anselm Prester took over the studio and sold the first works. In 1965 he moved to the North Sea island of Langeoog, where he married the daughter of a restaurant operator on June 29th. A son was born in 1966 and a daughter in 1967. Prester first opened a bar near his father-in-law, who was successful in running the beach hall , the “Givtbude”, which was aimed primarily at a young audience in the evenings. Since 1978 he has offered pastel and oil painting courses for adults and children. In 1981 he began to set up his own studio, which he expanded over time; the pub was closed for this and redesigned accordingly. 1986 he took part in the television series Die Insel ; the Bavariafilmplatz bought 20 originals of paintings. The politician Richard von Weizsäcker bought an oil painting in 1991. Furthermore, Anselm Prester has been honorary president of the “Golfclub Insel Langeoog e. V. ”He offers a holiday academy with painting courses in his“ Le Paradies ”studio.
