Life

Anselm Hubert von Pidoll, born in 1734 as the son of the hut owner Franz Gottfried von Pidoll in Eichelhütte , received his master's degree from the University of Trier in 1751 and entered the Himmerod monastery in 1752. In this way he was able to save some valuable manuscripts from auction. On May 16, 1803, Bishop Charles Mannay of Trier appointed him to the canon of the cathedral , and in 1824 he became the first canon. He died in 1827 in the Ersfeld house in Trier.
