Ansgar Gmür

Ansgar Gmür (born November 29, 1953 in Amden SG) is a Swiss economist and former director of the Swiss Homeowners Association .

Life

Gmür was born the seventh child. After his poor childhood on his parents' mountain farm and the early death of his mother, he started his professional career in 1971 with an apprenticeship as a chemical laboratory assistant at Sandoz in Basel . After completing his apprenticeship, he made up his Matura at AKAD («Academic Community for Adult Education») and at the same time found a new job as a chemical laboratory assistant at Sika AG in Zurich. In 1978 he passed the federal diploma. Matura and then began studying economics at the University of Zurich with a major in law. He finished his studies with a degree in business administration with a minor in law . In order to be able to finance his studies, he worked as a taxi driver, night porter, cashier, teacher and trainer, among others at the training center of the Schweizerische Kreditanstalt (SKA) and at AKAD.

After completing his studies, he took a position as a controller at Roche in Basel and attended the Controller Academy in Munich. For several years he worked as a lecturer at the AKAD as well as at the IMAKA (Institute for Management and Management Training) and at the SIU in Bern. At the same time he made himself available as an expert. From 1985 he was secretary of the Swiss Trade Association in Bern. Ansgar Gmür took in many federally. In 2015, HEV Switzerland celebrated its 100th anniversary and over 3000 members and guests came to the Rütli for the festival. Ansgar Gmür is married and has three grown daughters and lives in Affoltern am Albis. As a hobby he made appearances as a ventriloquist and enjoyed a part-time soloist training as a tenor at the Zurich Conservatory .
