Ansgar pause

Ansgar Erich Paus OSB (born January 11, 1932 in Bocholt ; † September 18, 2017 in Salzburg ) was a German Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1952, he entered Gerleve Abbey . He made his profession on October 5, 1953 . After priestly ordination on September 8, 1958, he was in 1963 at the Pontifical Athenaeum of Saint Anselm to the doctor of philosophy doctorate .

After his habilitation in 1972 at the University of Munich , he taught at the Catholic Theological Faculty from 1972 to 2000 as a university professor at the University of Salzburg for epistemology and religious studies and long-standing director of the Institute for Philosophy.
